Pour les accros de Facebook et de Fiat Dino, voici un nouveau moyen d'échanger sur notre passion. Mick Smith en est l'initiateur et voici son texte d'introduction. J'adhère!"There was a yelp of tyres, a thrash of camshaft chains and a boom of all six Weber throats.
Blood red and gleaming in the winter sun our Dino had arrived, we threw our luggage into the back, scrambled in and roared off, blasting up the autostrada at a steady 120 mph.
She sounded like an orchestra. At the top were the treble chords of her four cams, whining and whirring up to 5,000 and screaming like a circular saw onto 7,500 or 8,000. From 2,000 she would pull like a lion with a deep throaty growl which hovered and burbled, then picked up to rise in a crescendo with all the other sounds-gearbox, wind and exhaust-joining in with double forte.
Not to say she was noisy, she just liked to sing. At 130 mph every note that she sounded was the purist music, harmonious and always true.
There’s nothing else to say she’s a Dino ......a V6 Ferrari engined coupe or spider named after Enzo Ferrari’s son, Alfredo (Dino). A deal was done between fiat and Ferrari to produce enough V6 Dino engines so Ferrari could compete in 1966 formula two. Hand-built coupe bodies came from Bertone whilst the spider bodies came from Pininfarina.
This group is dedicated to Dino's & anyone who likes them, owners, ex owners or just interested."
